Old Computers Sucked
The Debian Experience
Overview of the happenings in Linux during 1994, as well as an overview of the Debian project followed by me installing it on my 386.
I show the installation process, followed by a kernel recompile to get my hardware working, after which I can install the rest of the system off CD-ROM. After verifying that I had working sound, I get X Windows set up in 800 x 600 in 256 colors like I had on SLS, and then get a few simple Windows applications running in Wine. Doom did not run great on X11 though.
